About UKRoute

UKRoute is a free resource for anyone with a route to the UK. Whether you're preparing for the Life in the UK Test, sitting your NMC CBT, moving to Britain, or just looking for practical everyday help — we're here to make it simpler.

Our Mission

We want to help as many people as possible pass their Life in the UK Test and NMC CBT on the first attempt, and to make everyday UK life less confusing. We believe everyone deserves access to quality preparation materials and honest, practical advice — without paying expensive fees.

How to Prepare for the Life in the UK Test

  • Read the official "Life in the United Kingdom" handbook
  • Take our practice tests regularly
  • Review your incorrect answers carefully
  • Focus on areas where you score lower
  • Use the explanations to understand why answers are correct

About the Test

The Life in the UK Test consists of 24 questions based on the official handbook. You need to score at least 75% (18 out of 24) to pass. The test is taken on a computer at a designated test centre. You have 45 minutes to complete the test.

The NMC Test of Competence is a separate computer-based test (CBT) that nurses and midwives trained outside the UK must pass as part of the registration process. Find out more on our NMC CBT page.
