Can I drive in the UK with a foreign licence?

It depends where your licence is from. Visitors can usually drive on a valid foreign licence for up to 12 months. As a resident, most non-UK licences are valid for 12 months from when you became resident, after which you need to exchange it or take the UK test. Licences from certain countries (including EU countries) can be exchanged without re-taking a test.
